Rondo’s Triple-Double Leads Celtics Over Knicks
Published at(BOSTON) — Maybe these trade rumors are helping Rajon Rondo. Rondo had his second triple-double in his last three games helping to lead the Boston Celtics (19-17) to a 115-111 victory over the Knicks (18-19).
Rondo had 18 points, 20 assists and 17 rebounds, making him the first person to record at least 17 in every category of their triple double, since Magic Johnson in 1989.
Rondo recently has been the focus of trade rumors, although Celtics’ General Manager Danny Ainge says the team is not actively trying to trade him.
“I think it’s helped me,” Rondo said. ” I think I’ve been playing better since the trade rumors so keep them going.”
Paul Pierce led all scorers with 34-points.
