(NEW YORK) — With Quarterback Tim Tebow coming to East Rutherford, there is one guy you might expect not to be happy… the current quarterback Mark Sanchez. But based on the way he welcomed Tebow, it appears Sanchez is fine with the situation.
“I welcomed him to the team and gave him my number,” Sanchez said. “I let him know if he needed anything. I left him a voicemail and he called right back. He was excited about working together.”
Right before Tebow was traded, Sanchez received a five year contract worth $58.25 million. In his three years as the Jet’s starter, Sanchez has led the team to two AFC Championship games.
“We’ve all had big moments here together,” Sanchez said. “A bunch of comeback wins and playoff victories, so I’m not worried about losing my spot.”
Sanchez has a career quarterback rating of 73.2 and has thrown 55 touchdowns compared to 51 interceptions.
