(DALLAS) — Ramon Sessions is showing all Lakers fans why he could be a pivotal part in another title run in 2012.
In his fourth game since being acquired before the trade deadline, Sessions dropped in 17 points and dished out nine assists in the Lakers (29-18) 109-93 rout over the Mavericks (27-21) on Wednesday night.
Kobe Bryant who said it was tough to see longtime Laker, Derek Fisher go, scored 30 points.
“We really allow him to handle the ball and penetrate and get to the teeth of the defense,” Bryant said of Sessions’ play. “Conserves a great deal of energy for me, I don’t have to do that, I can be on the receiving end of plays and finish plays. He does such a great job setting the table.”
Pau Gasol added 27 points of his own and is also a believer of Sessions.
“He definitely is a point guard that creates a lot of pick-and-rolls and gets us points in transition, too,” said Gasol, who went 13-for-16 from the field. “He gets in the lane, and he can knock down the shot himself.”
