Orange guard Dion Waiters led the way with 18 points, followed by Scoop Jardine who put in 16 of his own in the rout.  Forward James Southerland chipped in with 15 and added a ferocious dunk that was the explanation point on the game.

“We won the game, that’s all that matters,” said Jardine.  “It don’t matter about if we play good or bad.  We won and advanced.”

Syracuse (33-2) knocked down 6 of 9 three pointers in the game.

“It’s been awhile since we’ve knocked down shots like that,” said Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim.  “It just makes the game a lot easier when those shots go in.”

This is Syracuse’s 17th appearance overall and third straight in the round of 16.
