BROWN/AFP/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — The Muppets received the 2,466th star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame Tuesday, joining such fictional stars as Bugs Bunny, Godzilla, Mickey Mouse and The Simpsons on the historic sidewalk monument.

The late Jim Henson’s famed fabric creations were enshrined in front of the El Capitan Theatre, where their induction ceremony was held.

Lisa Henson, Jim Henson’s daughter, accepted the honor on her father’s behalf — and as the CEO of the Jim Henson Company.  She thanked, “the lovers, the dreamers and the fans,” quoting the hit Muppets song “The Rainbow Connection.”

After the event, she told ABC News Radio her dad would be proud, saying, “[H]e had a vision that The Muppets would continue for years and years, and that future generations would love them, and I think he’d be pleased and proud to know that it did transpire that way.”
