The Mythbusters Are Back with ‘Unchained Reaction’

Discovery Channel(NEW YORK) — Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, best known as the stars of Discovery’s hit show Mythbusters, are lighting the fuse on a new experiment.
Unchained Reaction, a new competition show that’s produced by the pair, debuts this Sunday. It pits clever teams of various disciplines against each other to design chain reaction contraptions — sometimes referred to as Rube Goldberg machines — to perform simple tasks.
Hyneman says, “We got motorcycle mechanics for one of them, and we had people from NASA … and we match them up. We try to find combinations that will … make some sparks.” Savage said, “We wanted to construct a show that we would be excited to be contestants on … Every week on the show, the contestants have exceeded our expectations and done things that we could have never imagined…It’s really been wonderful.”
A six-part series, Unchained Reaction, makes its debut Sunday at 10 p.m. ET on Discovery.
