T.J. Price’s three-point play with 33 seconds left capped the Hilltoppers 16-point comeback.  The rally not only won over the University of Dayton Arena, but also President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron.

“Keep saying about these young men, they’re resilient, they won’t quit,” said Western Kentucky head coach Ray Harper.  “They were ready to play some more basketball.”

With the win, Western Kentucky (16-18) became the first team since Coppin State in 2009 to make it to the tournament with a losing record.

“I’m so very proud of my guys, we’ve had a historical run,” said Mississippi Valley head coach Sean Woods.  “It’s unfortunate that it ended this way.”
