But the 78-year-old mother has finally spoken about her grief in an interview at the Hope Baptist Church where Whitney’s funeral was held.

Cissy Houston told New Jersey’s MY9′s 10 O’clock news that she’s not angry, nor does she blame anyone for her daughter’s death.  “There’s nothin’ I can do about it… ain’t nothin’ nobody can do about it, if I thought I could do something to bring her back that’s exactly what I’d do about it…but I know that’s impossible.”

The woman that inspired her daughter to follow in her footsteps and start her career by singing in the church choir said that she knows she did the best she could.  “I don’t blame myself.  I know I did the best I could for everything.” Cissy Houston, who is still performing, spoke to the station during a break at rehearsal for this year’s Gospelfest.  “My children are my whole life,” Cissy said.  “She was very special to me…she was my only daughter, and a good one.”  And in the end she says she is very proud of her daughter.  “She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here…she was a very wonderful person.”  The full interview airs Monday on My9′s 10 O’Clock News.
