(DENVER) — The Denver Broncos signed free-agent wide receiver Andre Caldwell Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 26-year-old Caldwell was drafted by the Bengals out of Florida in the third round of the 2008 NFL draft. During his four seasons in Cincinnati, he caught 124 passes for 1,172 yards and six touchdowns.
Caldwell said one of the deciding factors in signing with the Broncos was the addition of 11-time Pro Bowl quarterback Peyton Manning.
“It was a big factor,” Caldwell said on a conference call. “He’s a veteran quarterback who knows how to win games. He knows how to put players in positions to be their best. He gets the best out of his receivers. That played a big part of it and that’s a big reason why I came.”
Last season, Caldwell had 37 receptions for 317 yards and three touchdowns.
