(IDAHO FALLS) – An Idaho Falls 7th Grader won first place in Idaho’s “Letters About Literature” writing contest this year. KPVI reports that Connor Weller of Holy Rosary School was inspired by Gary Paulsen’s “Dogsong.” Connor’s was one of over 59,000 submitted nationwide, and now he’ll be submitted for a chance to win nationally on April 24. Connor was also able to correspond with Paulsen to tell him about his experience. Paulsen wrote back and encouraged Connor to continue reading and writing.
