“There’ll be a new song probably coming out at the end of the year,” Adele said, but added that her next album won’t be out for at least another two years.  “I have to write another record,” she explained. “If I didn’t write my own songs, I’d be out next week with a new album.  But because I write my own songs I have to take time, and live a little bit.”  She noted, “It was a good two years before my first and second albums, so it’ll be the same this time.”

As for what that new song coming out at the end of the year may be, Adele has been rumored for months to have recorded the theme for the next James Bond film, “Skyfall,” due out in October.

In the interview, Adele insisted she’s not feeling any pressure to follow up the astonishing success of  21.  “You know, I never, ever expected the success of my first album, either, let alone now many record’s this one’s sold,” she said.  “So I don’t think I’ll ever feel the pressure for my next record to be as big as the last one, because I know it’s not really possible, and what happened with this one is very rare anyway.”  Regardless, any pressure she might feel, she added, would come from herself.
