Airline Quality at an All-Time High, Study Finds

SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1333386221964Jupiterimages/Thinkstock(WASHINGTON) — Airline quality has reached an all-time high, according to an annual report out Monday — “the best year ever in the 22 years we’ve been doing this,” said lead researcher Dean Headley, a business professor at Wichita State University.

“AirTran was the number one rated carrier this year, as it was last year,” Headley said. Hawaiian Airlines and JetBlue Airways rounded out the top spots when it came to on-time performance, baggage handling, customer complaints and overbooked flights.

The study found that low-cost carriers that mainly fly between large hubs did the best, while regional airlines did the worst.
