Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo had double-digit assists for the eighteenth consecutive game, and Paul Pierce scored a team high 27 points in the win.

The C’s led from the end of the first quarter on, but the Heat narrowed the Celtics lead to one in the fourth before Boston retook control.

“We just didn’t panic,” Pierce said to ESPN’s Heather Cox. “We relied on our defense. We dug back in…Went on our own little 4-0 run… Pushed the lead to five and really didn’t look back.”

The Celtics now trail Indiana by two games for the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
