Bruins Captain Zdeno Chara slapped a shot from the right circle that deflected off Capitals’ defenseman Roman Hamrlik’s stick with just under two minutes to go in the third period, to give the B’s the win.

“I always just try to put it on net and keep it low,” Chara said. “I think it was deflected off one of their players stick and went in.”

Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin scored in the loss. The goal put him in sole possession of second place on the Caps playoff goals list with 26. Peter Bondra leads that list with 30.

Game 4 is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET in Washington.
