(LOS ANGELES) — The Los Angeles Clippers had already clinched a playoff berth before they stepped foot on the Staples Center floor. Houston’s loss to Denver earlier in the night vaulted the Clips into the playoffs, then they proceeded to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder (44-17), 92-77.
“This is a great feeling,” said Clippers guard Chris Paul. “We can celebrate it, be excited about it tonight, but tomorrow we’re back at work.”
Before Monday, the Clippers (38-23) had the second longest post season drought in the NBA.
Nick Young led Los Angeles with 19 points and Blake Griffin chipped in 17 and 11 boards.
The Thunders’ Kevin Durant scored 24 in the loss.
