Like in the team’s 7-6 win over the Minnesota Twins, when outfielder Curtis Granderson went 5-5 with three home runs to lead the team to victory.

Granderson remarkably hit all three of his home runs by the fourth inning. According to Stats LLC, Granderson became just the 12th player in Major League history to hit three homers in the first four innings of a game. He’s also the first ever Yankee to have five hits in a game with three home runs.

“Just trying to get my timing right, and baseball is all about that,” Granderson said after the game. “Pitchers are trying to disrupt it, your trying to get it, and that’s what I’ve been fighting with all April so hopefully we can go ahead and continue to carry this on.”

Granderson was hitting just .208 heading into the game, but raised his average all the way up to .283 after his five-hit performance.
