Emery Signs One-Year Extension with Blackhawks
Published at(DETROIT) — Blackhawks goaltender Ray Emery signed a one-year contract extension with the team on Saturday. The contract is reportedly worth $1.15 million.
Emery, 29, joined the Hawks this season as the primary backup to young Corey Crawford. Emery played in 34 game posting 15-9-4 record with a 2.81 goals-against-average.
Last season, Emery returned from hip surgery and went 7-2 with the Anaheim Ducks leading them into the playoffs.
Throughout his seven year career, Emery has posted a 109-62-19 record with a 2.69 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage.
