(POCATELLO) – Seismic activity has led to a string of recent earthquakes on the West Coast, leaving some questioning whether Eastern Idaho could face “the big one” any time soon. Experts tell Local News 8 that in spite of shifting tectonic plates relatively close by, Idaho’s seismic movement has remained normal. They say the chances of a major earthquake hitting any time soon are minimal. Idaho’s last big temblor struck the Lost River Range in 1983, measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale and killing two people.
