(IDAHO FALLS) – Idaho Falls Mayor Jared Fuhriman was on hand Saturday as people gathered from around the region to honor Child Abuse Prevention Month. Local News 8 reports that the city of Idaho Falls hosted a 5K run and walk to raise awareness about what is still a major problem in the community. Last Sunday a 6-year-old Pocatello boy died of injuries he sustained as the result of domestic abuse by his father. All funds raised will go toward child abuse prevention programs.
