(CHICAGO) — Chicago Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa will miss Game 5 of the Hawks playoff series with the Phoenix Coyotes.
Chicago head coach Joe Quenneville announced Friday, Hossa won’t travel with the team to Phoenix for the game.
Hossa was injured during Game 3 when Coyotes winger Raffi Torres hit him in the head. Hossa was taken off the ice on a stretcher and brought to an area hospital from which he was released later that night.
Quenneville said before leaving for Phoenix that there is no updates on Hossa’s injury.
Torres has been suspended indefinitely. NHL senior vice president of player safety and hockey operations Brendan Shanahan will announce Saturday whether the league will further discipline Torres.
