(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims made some ground last week, dropping slightly to 386,000 after experiencing a spike at the beginning of the month, the Labor Department reported Thursday.
For the week ending April 14, the number of people filing for benefits decreased by 2,000. The previous week, claims stood at 388,000.
The four-week average, however, went up, climbing by 5,500 to end at 374,750.
