Jobless Claims Rise by 13,000 to Kick Off April
Published at | Updated at(WASHINGTON) — After falling to their lowest level in four years last month, jobless claims snapped their downward trend in April, rising to 380,000 to kick off the month, the Labor Department reported Thursday.
For the week ending April 7, the number of people filing for benefits increased by 13,000. The previous week, claims stood at 367,000.
The four-week average also went up, climbing by 4,250 to end at 368,500.
