Stoll buried the game-winner in the top left corner of the net after a turnover on the Vancouver blue line.

“I put it where I hoped I would,” Stoll said of the goal. ” I don’t know, kind of got lucky maybe, but you know seeing a little room up there and  short-side, maybe it’s somewhere there not expecting. Definitely shooting all the way. Lou (Trevor Lewis) did a great job on the turnover. Just the right place right time, and a quick little transition two-on-one.”

Vancouver becomes the sixth team to win the Presidents’ Trophy (given to the team with the best regular season record in the league) and lose in the first round of the playoffs.

The victory gave the Kings their first playoff series win since 2001.
