Nadal Defeats Djokovic To Win The Monte Carlo Masters

ChinaFotoPress/Getty Images(MONACO) -- Rafael Nadal won his eighth consecutive clay-court Monte Carlo Masters championship Sunday, with a straight-set finals victory over Novak Djokovic, 6-3, 6-1. The win for the 10-time Grand Slam champion also snapped a string of seven straight losses to Djokovic.

“Djokovic had an amazing one year and a half, having always perfect mistakes,” Nadal said. “Today, he had more mistakes than usual.”

Nadal has won 42 straight matches at the Monte Carlo Masters.
