PACE Students Recreate Ellis Island
Published at | Updated at
(IDAHO FALLS) – Hundreds of people in Idaho Falls got to relive a piece of history Tuesday. KIDK reports that kids from District 91’s PACE program turned Sunnyside Elementary into a mock-up of Ellis Island. Some came in costumes and even more assumed foreign identities. It was all in good fun to teach students and parents alike about an important chapter of America’s past. Officials say more than 200 students were involved in the project, after spending the school year studying immigration.
