(SAN DIEGO) — After pitching 10 shutout innings Wednesday night in San Francisco, the Phillies have placed left-hander Cliff Lee on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.
“We are being very cautious with this,” general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said. “There’s no reason for him to completely blow it out, because it’s an injury that if he hurts himself and really pulls it, we could lose him for a long time.”
In three starts this season, Lee is 0-1, with a 1.96 ERA. He struck out 18 batters in 23 innings of work.
