Report: Boston Is Most Expensive Destination in US

GETTY B 042312 Boston?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1335178803700iStockphoto/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — The city of Boston has earned the dubious distinction of being the most expensive destination in the U.S.  That’s according to a new Budget Hotel Report released by CheapHotels.org.

The report examined the dollar amount travelers will have to spend, on average, to get the cheapest available double room this upcoming May 30.

Visitors to Boston will have to pay, on average, at least $194 per night to stay overnight in a double room.  New York City ranks second with visitors, on average, paying $172 to stay overnight.  Orlando offers the cheapest double rooms: $33 per night.

For comparison purposes, the report only included hotels that are located in or very close to either the city center or its main attractions.
