(LOS ANGELES) — With a new hit record and a net worth said to be in the hundreds of millions, Lionel Richie probably won’t be staying up all night long about an unpaid tax bill of just over a million bucks.
TMZ reports the IRS has filed a lien of $1.1 million — $1,130,609.11 to be exact — against the singer.
There’s no word yet from Richie’s reps.
Richie’s country music collaboration Tuskegee recently reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart, his best debut since 1986. It sold 199,000 copies in its first week of release.
