During an interview on MSNBC Monday morning, Hogan Gidley, national communications director for Santorum, said Bella, who was admitted to the hospital on Friday, is doing much better and Santorum is expected to return to the trail Tuesday.

Bella Santorum suffers from Trisomy 18, a rare, but serious genetic condition that kills about 90 percent of affected children before or during birth. Bella has defied those odds at 3-years-old.

She was also admitted to the hospital in January with pneumonia and Santorum briefly suspended campaigning. But according to Santorum, Bella had a “miraculous turnaround” in January.

Santorum currently has two events scheduled in Pennsylvania on Tuesday – a morning rally in Bedford and an appearance at the “American Heartland Conversation on Faith, Family and American Values” at Lancaster Bible College in Lancaster in the evening.  He will campaign in the Keystone State through Thursday and speak at the NRA conference in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday.
