Six Spurs scored in double figures, and they tied their biggest blowout of the season, as San Antonio (48-16) decimated the Portland Trail Blazers (28-37), 124-89, clinching the top seed in the West for the second straight season.

Spurs forward Tim Duncan scored 18 points and grabbed eight boards in the win. While he knows the top spot is a good place to be, he knows that doesn’t mean any guarantees.

“It’s great to be in that situation, but as we showed last year, someone can sneak up and take you out easily,” Duncan said. “Hopefully we get a much better effort this year and do a much better job this year, and we stay away from those injuries.”

You have to go back to 2008 to find a playoff where Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili were all healthy, and with two games to go in the season, and the top seed sewn up, it’s likely you won’t see much of Duncan, Parker or Ginobili until the playoffs.
