(NEW YORK) — With Tebowmania as Linsanity both occupying the Big Apple, they now also both hold the distinction of being on an exclusive list. Both Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin were named to Time Magazine’s “Top 100 Most Influntial People In the World.”
Tebow and Lin joined fellow athletes Novak Djokovic, Yani Tseng, Lionel Messi, and Oscar Pistorius.
Tebow took the NFL by storm last season after he took over the starting quarterback job of the Denver Broncos and led the team to the playoffs and a AFC West Division title despite the team starting out 1-4. He was recently traded to the New York Jets where he will be fighting for playing time with fellow quarterback Mark Sanchez.
The Asian-American Lin made a splash onto the NBA scene after he went from D-Leaguer to borderline All-Star. Cut by multiple NBA teams, Lin signed with the New York Knicks and went on a scoring streak that had never been seen before, and led the Knicks to a seven game win streak during the height of which was known as Linsanity.
Tebow and Lin are also said to be good friends.
