“The Hunger Games” Remains Box Office Champ with $33.5 Million

The blockbuster film earned an estimated $33.5 million to remain in first place.  It has now raised $302.8 million at the domestic box office to date.

The American Pie sequel American Reunion debuted in the runner-up spot, drawing $21.5 million.  The 3D re-release of Titanic bowed in the third spot, with $17.4 million.

Here are the top 10 movies from Friday through Sunday, with estimated ticket sales:

1. The Hunger Games, $33.5 million
2. American Reunion, $21.5 million
3. Titanic (3D), $17.4 million
4. Wrath of the Titans, $15 million
5. Mirror Mirror, $11 million
