TV Personality Ricki Lake Elopes

Andrew Cowie/Photoshot/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Ricki Lake and Christian Evans secretly eloped over the weekend. The couple married in southern California on Sunday, April 8. Lake tweeted a photo of her wedding gown along with the comment, “Yup. This is me….” she said. “Sadie Sadie married lady. 🙂 🙂 Love is in the air.”
This is the second marriage for the former talk show host. The 43-year-old and her now-husband, Christian Evans, a 40-year-old jewelry designer, met through a friend and had been dating since the summer of 2010.
Lake, who has battled weight issues, competed on Dancing With The Stars last year and waited until the finale to purchase her wedding dress so she could make the most of her weight loss.
In a memoir, Never Say Never: Finding a Life That Fits, to be released on April 17, Lake talks about her weight loss struggle, financial problems, childhood and love life, including her divorce from artist Alan Sussman in 2003.
