UCLA Lands Top Recruit Tony Parker
Published at(LITHONIA, Ga.) — Center Tony Parker, the 26th ranked prospect in the ESPN 100, has committed to play basketball for the UCLA Bruins.
With the signing, UCLA overtook Kentucky as the school with top-ranked national recruiting class for 2012.
“I just thought UCLA was the perfect place for me to get better, be successful,” Parker said. “With the prestigious open run that they have in the summertime, I just thought UCLA would be a great place. I have three great guys recruiting me in Kyle Anderson, Shabazz (Muhammad) and Jordan (Adams).
The six-nine 270 pound McDonald’s All-American, led Miller Grove to four straight Georgia state titles. He averaged 16.6 points and 11 boards a game as a senior.
Parker chose UCLA over Ohio State, Duke, Georgia, Kansas and Memphis.
