GETTY B 102511 WallStreetStock? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1334696717065Hemera/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Some strong earnings reports and a debt auction in Spain helped push the markets up Tuesday.

The Dow had its best session in a month, closing above the 13,000 mark and gaining 193 points for the session. The Nasdaq added 54 points and the S&P gained 21.

Coca-Cola’s first-quarter profits were better than Wall Street analysts’ forecasts.  The beverage company gained more than 2 percent, reaching a 14-year high, the The Wall Street Journal reports. Goldman Sachs and Johnson & Johnson also posted strong results.

Another factor boosting stocks: the Spanish government sold more than $4 billion in short-term debt — more than had been expected.
