Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Mother Over Coffee

(SALT LAKE CITY, Utah) – A 23-year-old South Salt Lake man has pleaded guilty to killing his mother after she asked him to make her a cup of coffee. John Paul White admitted to killing his mother, 62-year-old Mary White, in November 2010. White reportedly “snapped” over the coffee request and brutally stabbed the woman several times. White’s attorney says his client is finally willing to accept responsibility, and will likely face a life sentence.
