(SANTA CLARA, Calif.) — The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to a six-year contract extension with punter Andy Lee, keeping the three-time All-Pro in the City by the Bay through the 2018 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Andy has established himself as one of the top players in the game at his position,” said 49ers general manager Trent Baalke. “He is a valued member of our organization and community. As we stated earlier this year, it is our objective to keep the core of this team together long term, and this is just another step in that direction.”
Lee was drafted by San Francisco inthe sixth round of the 2004 NFL draft out of Pittsburgh. In his eight seasons with the Niners, Lee has averaged 45.7 yards per punt.
