Animal Lovers Seek Better Enforcement of Abuse Laws

(POCATELLO) – Several animal lovers in Bannock County say authorities aren’t doing enough to punish those who mistreat animals. KIDK reports that the Portneuf Animal Welfare Society is raising major concerns, but county officials say there isn’t much they can do at the moment. Commissioner Steve Hadley says the county is making a concerted effort to respond to reports of animal abuse in a timely manner, though it remains a significant hurdle.
