Ashton Dam Near Completion

(ASHTON) – The Ashton Dam is entering its final stage of a upgrade aimed at improving the structure’s lifespan for years to come. Local News 8 reports that the dam has been a source of hydropower for nearly 100 years, and with the latest upgrades in place, the project could be completed by this fall. The final phase will modernize the internal structure of the dam and correct erosion. The facility currently produces enough power to light 3,900 homes.
