Bingham Co. Stand-Off Suspect Speaks Out

(POCATELLO) – A man who led Bingham County deputies on a high speed chase and standoff last week is speaking out. 30-year-old Jeremy Andrus says he suffered a major mental breakdown before he threatened his ex-wife and her family in Rockford, ultimately wanting to take his own life. He tells KIDK that he wanted custody of his children, as well as the financial security he had before his divorce last year. He says negotiator Randy Herbert helped him calm down make the choice to finally surrender. Andrus has since been charged with attempted kidnapping, eluding an officer, and aggravated assault.
