Blue Jays Demote First Baseman Adam Lind

The 28-year-old Lind opened the year as Toronto’s cleanup hitter, but he has struggled all season at the plate. He is batting just.186 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 34 games.
Lind had a breakout campaign in 2009, batting .305 with 35 home runs and 114 RBIs, but his production has since tailed off.
To fill Lind’s spot on the roster, the Blue Jays called up catcher Yan Gomes.
