The Philadelphia Flyers held a 1-0 lead from early in the first period all the way until the third. That’s when the Devils figured out to score. New Jersey put up four third period goals and went on to beat the Flyers 4-1, evening up the second round playoff series at one.

The Devils were without their leading goal scorer Ilya Kovalchuck, who was out with a lower back injury.

Devils’ Adam Larsson and David Clarkson both scored their first goals of the playoffs, Larsson his first career playoff goal of his career, in the win.

“It was just a rebound,” Clarkson said of his goal. “I don’t know if the goalie poked it, but it landed on my stick. I’ll take it though.”

The series now shifts to New Jersey were Game 3 will take place on Thursday at 7:30 PM ET.
