Dainus Zubrus gave Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur a nice birthday present on the day he celebrated his 40th birthday, with two goals and sent the Philadelphia Flyers a 4-2 loss.  The Devils were down 2-0 early but scored two goals of their own in the first period to quiet any Flyers momentum.

“You kind of shake your head a little bit that you’re at a level that you’re having fun and be able to compete in the league that you always wanted to play and still be able to keep going,” said Brodeur who had 20 saves on Sunday. “I know I don’t take anything for granted, I really appreciate every moment. Especially this year has been awesome for me. Getting older, seeing other kids grow up and do their thing and become superstars.”

The Flyers have overcome a 3-1 series deficit once, in 2010 when then came back from three down to beat Boston in the conference semifinals.  They’ll look to try and repeat history on Tuesday at home. For the Devils, they’ll be hoping to return to their first conference finals since 2003.
