In front of an announced crowd of 165,307, jockey Mario Gutierrez rode the 15-1 horse, I’ll Have Another to victory at Churchill Downs on Saturday afternoon.

“In the end he just gives a 100 percent all the time, as soon as you ask him, he throws everything on the race, and he didn’t disappoint today,” said Guitierrez of I’ll Have Another down the stretch.

The Derby champion is owned by Paul Reddam and trained by Doug O’Neill.  This was O’Neill’s first win in the race, having not finished better than 13th with two other horses in the Kentucky Derby.

“I don’t know how at this point anything can be bigger than winning the Kentucky Derby but if you hear something, let me know,” said Reddam when asked if he has ever experienced anything bigger than this.

Dullahan finished in third followed by Went the Day Well.  The favorite Union Rags finished in seventh.

I’ll Have Another paid $32.60, $13.80 and $9. Bodemeister returned $6.20 and $5.60 and Dullahan paid $7.20.
