Leavitt Death Warrant Upheld

(IDAHO FALLS) – Seventh District Judge Jon Schindurling has upheld the death warrant for convicted murderer Richard Leavitt. KIDK reports that Leavitt’s attorney argued that the death warrant should never have been issued in the first place, though prosecutor Scott Andrews and Schindurling  disagreed with Leavitt’s defender after an our of deliberation. The warrant will likely face further appeals at the state and federal levels. Leavitt is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection June 12.
