(DALLAS) — The Dallas Mavericks and head coach Rick Carlisle have agreed to a new contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are excited that Rick will be back with the Mavericks for at least the next four years,” Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said in a statement released Tuesday. “He is a proven winner, a great teacher and a coach that will help the Mavericks improve as a team and as an organization.”
In four years at the helm in Big D, Carlisle is 198-114. He led the Mavericks to their first NBA championship in 2011, defeating the Heat in six games in the NBA Finals.
Carlisle previously coached the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers.
