Busacca/WireImage(NEW YORK) — The success of young guns One Direction and The Wanted, as well as the well-received joint tour by New Kids on the Block and The Backstreet Boys, and the recent return of Kevin Richardson to the Backstreet fold, has some wondering about the holy grail of boy band reunions.  In other words, will ‘NSYNC ever take the plunge?  Unfortunately, no — if JC Chasez has anything to say about it.

Chasez tells Entertainment Weekly, “The answer’s still no. If you’re going to do something, it has to be for all the right reasons — and that’s not money or the fact that everybody else is doing it. We’re happy with what it was and the way we finished things.  We did what we set out to do and we’re comfortable with that.”

However, the singer, who judges America’s Best Dance Crew, tells EW that he’s happy that boy bands are making a comeback.  “I love that One Direction is giving young people something to get excited about,” he says.  “A 10-year-old’s not going to relate to Eminem, so there needs to be somebody out there that can speak to somebody young to show them a good time.”

JC’s also a fan of The Wanted’s hit “Glad You Came.”  He says, “I don’t think anybody first heard that song and said, ‘That’s got to be a boy band.’  There’s room for everybody as long as it’s quality.”
