As a result, the team is rewarding Jones with a six-year contract extension worth about $85.5 million according to ESPN.

Jones’ new contract is the largest in Orioles history. His deal passes Miguel Tejada’s $72 million (2004-2009) deal and Nick Markakis’ $66.1 million deal (209-2014). His deal also reportedly includes a full no-trade provision.

The 26-year old Jones’ new deal also makes him the second highest-paid center fielder in all of Major League Baseball, behind Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Always a talented prospect, Jones is putting it all together this season. Through 47 games, Jones is hitting .309 with 14 home runs and 31 runs batted in. At his current pace, Jones is set to put up career highs in batting average, home runs, RBI’s, runs scored, and stolen bases.
