Patriotism-Themed Charter School Deferred to State
(IDAHO FALLS) – Idaho Falls School District 91 has deferred a petition for a patriotism-themed charter school to the state. School board members opted to send the petition to the State Public Charter School Commission, feeling that the proposed American Heritage Charter School presented too much liability for the district. If approved, the school will likely be managed by the state instead, and will still hold classes at the New Sweden School. A similar charter school in Gooding received state approval in 2007.
