(POCATELLO, ID)  —  The city of Pocatello is considering a law that would add legal protections for everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.  Mayor Brian Blad says there isn’t any legislation that provides basic civil protections for gay, lesbian, and transgendered residents. The proposal would likely outlaw discrimination in employment and housing.  Blad hopes the community’s open-mindedness and tolerance will help the measure move forward.  He says the bill could be up for a vote as soon as this fall, though the city will be asking for public input in the meantime.
